The Beyond Bushfires: Community Resilience and Recovery study set out to learn about the impacts of the Victorian 2009 bushfires on the health and wellbeing of affected communities. After six years, two sets of questionnaires, many interviews, phone calls, emails, community visits, and the input of over 1,000 community members we have so much to share and discuss.
We would like to invite you to join us for the final Beyond Bushfires Symposium where we will present our findings from the last six years and explore how we can use the research to benefit communities at risk or affected by disasters. The symposium will include an overview of findings and in-depth panel discussions with researchers, government representatives, service providers and community members.
It provides an opportunity to meet the Beyond Bushfires team, discuss the findings, and contribute to the development of recommendations for strategies to increase disaster resilience and recovery.
