Renowned landscape artist, Phillip Johnson, will be presenting a special session at the Steels Creek Community Centre on July 11 at 9:30am.
Now, working alongside some of Australia’s leading developers, architects and government departments, Phillip Johnson Landscapes has been ‘recreating habitats’ for more than 20 years. Phillip’s designs have focused on the creation of beautiful habitats that allow families to get connected back to nature.
Phillip Johnson Landscapes has created a number of successful show gardens around the world. Creating show gardens is about educating people and spreading the Phillip Johnson philosophy of getting connected with nature even further. At the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, he has won the Ford Sustainability Award for three out of four years, as well as multiple Gold, and a Best in Show award in 2009. 2013 saw him represent Australia at the centenary of the world’s most prestigious horticultural event – the Chelsea International Flower Show. Phillip made history here: winning ‘Best in Show’, and a gold medal for The Trailfinders Australian Garden – the first time this had ever been done for Australia. He also won a ‘Best in Show – International Design’ at the China Flower show in Wujin, China, in the same year.
Phillip’s first book, “Connected: The Sustainable Landscapes of Phillip Johnson”, highlights his philosophy of connecting people and landscapes through design and construction projects. He has graciously offered to present his work and experiences at the community centre for a one-off presentation event.
