Clamberers

Important Announcement:

As at March 2014, the Clamberers group is officially and indefinitely ‘on hold’, as no-one has come forward to take on the all-important Walks Coordinator role (see below). As such, the information below no longer applies, but is left as a record and in the hope that it will be updated some time in the near future. David and Robyn Allan share their thoughts and ideas in this letter.

Steels Creek Clamberers undertake a series of monthly walks, normally on the last Sunday, from March to November each year.

The walks, in nearby and regional locations, provide an opportunity to gently explore or re-visit some of our beautiful bushland and other areas, in good company. Walks are generally of a moderate level of physical challenge, and there is usually ample opportunity to pause awhile along the way.

New members are always welcome, whether to walk on a regular or occasional basis.

Walks are advertised in The Jolly Thing, circulated to members via email, and announced at Steels Creek community market. You will also find the program for the remainder of this year, below.

Steels Creek Clamberers Walks Program

Please Note: While walks are not intended to be particularly difficult, walking by its very nature may present some everyday hazards. Steels Creek Clamberers’ walks are organised as social activities, and participation is voluntary and entirely at participants’ own risk.

Note:  The walks program is currently in abeyance, as no-one has yet stepped forward to replace the previous walks coordinators. If you don’t want to see the Clamberers fall off the cliff, please see the call-out below.

Still wanted – Walks coordinator for 2014

The role is not onerous, but is important in creating/maintaining a schedule of suggested walks, and communicating to group members each month.

Expressions of interest to take over this role are sought from people who would like to see the long-standing tradition of monthly walks to continue! Contact David Allan to discuss: 5965 2556 or 0413 396 296.
