Safety & Support

The 2009 Black Saturday fires that devastated our valley, left in their wake  significant personal and property losses, financial hardship, social and emotional upheaval. It has been a long road to recovery, and the journey to a ‘new normal’ still continues.

This section, then, is here to help inform you about and connect you with the bushfire-related recovery and support services that are still available. It is also here to help ensure the safety of our community into the future, with information to prepare people and properties for the bushfire season and in the event of fire.

However, this section also aims to be a kind of one-stop-shop for information and links to a broader range of key services/agencies that you might require at some time, as you get on with everyday life.

The links below show just some of the services we have come across or been informed about – there are undoubtedly many others, and we can’t list them all, but if you have received beneficial support from an agency not listed here, we’d love to hear from you – please contact us.
