An open invitation is extended to all attend the Opening Night of the 35th Yea Rotary Art Show on Friday January 24th in the Yea Shire Hall.
Doors open at 7.30pm and those attending will be given the opportunity to be the first to view and purchase from the magnificent artworks on show. There will be over 300 art works and there is sure to be something of appeal to everyone.
The opening night includes champagne and nibbles and the opportunity to learn firsthand the winning paintings and hear from the judge. Once again there is more than $7000 in prize money on offer. Yea Rotary members are very grateful for the generous sponsorship of Frank Hargrave for the Best Art in Show award which enables the Show to attract well known and celebrated contemporary artists and is directly responsible for the quality work on exhibit. The Theme for the Opening Night is ‘French’ and it would be great if attendees on Opening Night joined in the fun of the night and dressed in keeping with the theme! Entry is $20 which includes champagne, nibbles, a souvenir catalogue and first choice of purchasing paintings.
Can’t make the Opening night? No worries. Try visiting Yea over the Australia Day weekend. The Art Show is open from Saturday January 25th, Sunday 26th and Monday 27th January 10am to 5pm and Tuesday 28th January 10am to 3pm. Entry is $5 per person and if you keep your catalogue, you may re-enter the show as many times as you wish. Whilst in Yea, why not have lunch or a coffee at one of the many cafes in town and then visit the Y Water Discovery Centre at the Yea Wetlands and enjoy some other attractions that Yea and the surrounding district have to offer. You will not be disappointed! If coming on Australia Day, come and enjoy a free Rotary breakfast in the main Street at 8am and then enjoy the rest of the day in Yea. Lots to do!
Don’t forget to purchase some raffle tickets with the winning prize being a beautiful Julian Bruere painting titled ‘Rural Mood’ valued at $1500. Second prize a $100 voucher for the Royal Mail Hotel and third prize is a hamper of local goodies. Tickets will be available for purchase every day of the Art show.
