Steels Creek Grapevine – Survey
Steels Creek Grapevine – Satisfaction Survey
The Steels Creek Grapevine is a news bulletin emailed to subscribers primarily in the Steels Creek area.
It originated after Black Saturday 2009, when Andrew Chapman, one of our community-minded residents, took it upon himself to distribute information by email as soon as possible, to help people become aware of what was going on, in the chaotic aftermath of the fires. It has continued in the years since, and is an important contributor to keeping the community informed and connected.
To ensure the Grapevine remains a relevant and useful source of information, we would welcome your views.
We have put together a very short online survey for you to complete. It should take you no more than 3-5 minutes.
Please share your views and have your say by using this link:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3D6733V
Thank you!
P.S. The Grapevine now has a ‘live’ version on the Steels Creek website with information that is constantly updated – in addition to, not as a replacement for, the weekly email newsletter. Want to find out what’s happening in the creek? Why wait for the next email? You can always look at the continuously updated online version here now.

Community Led Emergency Planning Forum 2016
WHEN: 9.30am – 4pm, 30th April 2016
WHERE: Monbulk Living & Learning Centre 21 Main St, Monbulk
Community Led Emergency Planning (CLEP) groups across the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley are invited to join together for a Free 1 day forum to share their experiences, hear from some fantastic guest speakers, see how the latest computer modelling can enhance your ability to connect with your community and showcase the great work your group is doing to make your community safer before and after a serious emergency. Throughout our region we have a diverse range of Community Led Emergency Planning groups ranging from those who are just beginning their journey to others who have been established and operating for over 30 years.
This event is a valuable opportunity to acknowledge and support the vital work being done by our CLEP groups and will be the first time CLEP groups have been able to workshop together at a regional level. We have allocated time during the day for groups to present their experiences at the forum and we would love to hear from as many groups as possible. Please contact Fiona Sewell asap by phone on 0488 726 007 or email fionasewell@vtown.com.au if you are interested in running a short presentation on the day about your groups successes and challenges. We will also be having a shared advertising table for you bring along your flyers and marketing resources to promote your group and maybe pick up some inspiration from others!
Discussion workshops happening throughout the day will enable groups to share our learnings with likeminded people, discover innovative solutions to common problems and provide State and Local Governments with a more comprehensive insight into the importance of CLEP groups and the types of support and resources we need to flourish.
To make the most of this important event please encourage members of your group to come along and join in and feel free to pass the invitation along to other communities in the region who are interested in getting involved in Community Based Emergency Planning.
To book into this event please click on the following links or https://www.trybooking.com/KWFC OR https://www.trybooking.com/190764 or email Fiona Sewell at fionasewell@vtown.com.au with your name and contact number and she will be in touch to confirm your booking. Steels Creek Grapevine 23rd March, 2016
The Grapevine is changing….
We’re currently reviewing the role of the Grapevine, it’s format and distribution method. In the short term, we’re only making some simple changes and trialing them to see what works best. In the longer term though, we’d like your input as to how you would like to see the Grapevine evolve (or not!). The suggestions so far include linking the Grapevine to the website more. Articles could be posted directly by anyone to the website (with editing approval of course!) and then the Grapevine can simply be the notification method with the website the full repository of community happenings.
If you have any ideas, preferences, view and opinions on what the Grapevine is, should be, or could be – please let us know!
Send an email to steelscreekcommunitycentreinc@gmail.com
Jolly Thing – Submission Deadline (29th March)
