Steels Creek lost a loved and respected past member of our community in the passing of Gwen Leckie on 31st January 2024. She and her husband Albie moved into their home in 1981, where they stayed for 40 years. It was their happiest place to be, and they played an integral part in building our strong community spirit. Gwen loved her animals, and loved working on the farm with Albie, who she adored. Albie was the go-getter of the team, and Gwen was the quiet brains trust and support. When Albie passed, Gwen felt lost, and wanted to join him, and so while we are sad to say goodbye, we can know that Gwen is now in her happy place with Albie.
