Habitat Gardening – Footscray – Saturday 13 August, 10:30am to 12:30pm
Our indigenous animals are struggling with the effects of urbanisation. You can be a ‘Champion for Wildlife’ by incorporating food, water, shelter and nesting places in your garden for our indigenous animals. Join SGA’s own Richard Rowe and learn about the habitat needs of different local fauna (birds, bats, marsupials, frogs, lizards, butterflies); key elements of a habitat garden – soil, food, water, shelter, nests; using plants to build habitat; chemicals and sustainable gardening practices; managing introduced pests and possums; fruit tree netting to minimise harm to birds.

Native Plant Propogation – Port Melbourne – Saturday 10 Sept, 1pm to 2:30pm
Ever wondered how to start a garden without paying for plants? Join this interactive Master Class on how to propagate native plants from cuttings, division and seed. Learn about the science of propogation and the techniques to successfully propogate native plants. After this workshop you will have the necessary knowledge and skills to propagate any plant you like and you can take home a pot of cuttings and some seeds to start you on your way.
